Diploma and Master thesis at IOM
The Leibniz Institute for Surface Modification (IOM) offers permanently themes for diploma/master thesis, preferably in the academics physics, chemistry, material science and physical and chemical engineering.
Themes may originate from following research areas (examples):
- Investigation of the interaction of ions beams, laser and plasma with solid surfaces
- Characterisation of surfaces and thin layers
- Micro-structuring by laser and low-energy ion beams
- Layer deposition and modification
- Development of ion sources
- Synthesis and characterisation of nano structures
- Bio-compatible surfaces and thin layers
