Young scientist honored with Best Oral Award

At this year's Euspen conference "Special Interest Group Meeting: Structured & Freeform Surfaces" in Paris-Saclay, France Ms. M. Ulitschka received last week the Best Oral Award for her lecture "Ultra-precision processing of optical aluminum surfaces with reactive subaperture ion beam techniques".

The conference brings together researchers from science and industry as well as public authorities to discuss the state of the art and important research and development work in the field of precision engineering associated with structured and free form surfaces.

Ms. Ulitschka is a scientific researcher and PhD student at the IOM and a member of the working group Non-conventional Ultra-precision Surface Machining headed by Prof. T. Arnold. Her work focuses on the ion beam planarization of Aluminium optics.
