IT-Manager and Data Security Coordinator

Effective 1st of July, 2018, the Leibniz Institute of Surface Engineering is looking to fill the position of an IT-Manager and Data Security CoordinatorThe position has an initial term of 2 years but is planned to be made permanent based upon satisfactory performance.  The IT-Manager and Data Security Coordinator will supervise two employees and reports to the Director of the Institute. 

Job description

1)     IT management tasks

·         Develop and implement IT concepts for the institute, including set standards for soft and hardware, digital communication, backup, firewall, virus protection, VPN, remote access, use of could services, etc.

·         Evaluate of the institute’s websites (internet, intranet), and implement improvements, use responsibly external resources

·         Develop and implement IT security concepts, report related data

·         Develop written guidelines for employees of the institutes

2) Data security coordinator tasks

·         Cooperate closely with the Institute’s Data Security and Privacy Manager (external firm), e.g. to arrange for employees’ training in the field of Data Security and Privacy

·         Implement Data Security and Privacy measures according to the legal regulations

 

Desired skills and experience

·         Bachelor, Master or Diploma degree in information technology, computer sciences, mathematics, physics, or similar equivalent degrees.  

·         Several years of experience in the fields of IT and data security

·         Very good working knowledge of current developments in the fields of IT, data security, and privacy laws

·         organizational talent, very good communication skills in German and English.
