Switchable and sensory surfaces

The Laboratory performs cutting-edge research in the fields of "Molecular Electronics and Spintronics", "Sensor Materials" and "Neuromorphic Computing". It is focused on the development and the nanoscale imaging of conceptually new coordination compounds, metal-based nanomaterials and (non-)covalent frameworks with redox- and magnetic-specific properties with regard to their use in technologically oriented charge-/spin-transport and optical mechanisms on substrate surfaces. The research program includes the inorganic and organic synthesis and the chemical-physical characterization of functional single molecules and molecular networks. The fabrication of their arrangement on surfaces and the contacting of individual nanosized building blocks are among the topics of Lab's multidisciplinary studies.
