One key focus of IOM is on fundamental physical and chemical processes using ions, electrons, plasmas and photons. We are part of the Leibniz Association, one of the four major non-university science organizations with 96 institutes in Germany.

We are looking for a competent, open-minded personality to strengthen our team as of March 2026. We offer you part-time (67%) employment with a limitation of provisionally 36 months. Your tasks:

  • Ultrafast time-resolved UV/Vis-absorption and emission spectroscopy to the singlet-fission dynamics in molecular triads and pentads
  • Combining in-situ UV/Vis-absorption, steady state emission and EPR spectroscopy to characterize light-induced excited states and spin chemistry of complex molecular architectures and their building blocks
  • Establish structure-dynamics-function relationships and develop a molecular-mechanistic understanding of the light driven spin switching process
