The Leibniz Institute of Surface Engineering (IOM) in Leipzig is seeking to fill the following position with immediate effect for a limited duration of three years:

IT Application Development and Digitalization (m/f/d)

 

The Leibniz Institute of Surface Engineering (IOM) is researching new functional and precision surfaces for applications of high societal relevance and emerging technologies. One key focus of IOM is on fundamental physical and chemical processes using ions, electrons, plasmas and photons. We are part of the Leibniz Association, one of the four major non-university science organizations with 96 institutes in Germany.

 

We are looking for a competent, open-minded personality to strengthen our team as soon as possible for a project work. We offer you full-time (40 hours) or part-time (at least 75%) employment with a limitation of three years.

Your tasks:

  • Coordinating and executing digitization projects and process optimizations primarily in the institute´s administration, from planning and preparation through to institute-wide implementation, using standardized project management methods
  • Review and administration of the standard applications used at the IOM, including troubleshooting and resolution of issues
  • Configuration of application software (e.g. SAGE, Matrix42, workflow tools) to the institute’s needs and processes and integration into the institute`s day-to-day routine
  • Installation and configuration of the environments for core applications, including the management of application and business configurations
  • Advising departments on the use and further development of application systems and interfaces, including ensuring the optimal use of the systems for the institute’s purposes
  • Management of external service providers
  • Monitoring of the systems under your care
  • Documentation of the projects for the preparation of a final report at the end of the project

 

 

Our requirements:

  • Professional qualifications in the IT sector or equivalent and practical experience in a similar position
  • ITIL knowledge and certifications are desirable
  • Extended knowledge from several years of support of IT applications, ideally in the SAGE system environment
  • Experience in implementing digitalization projects, esp. regarding the digitalization of administrative processes
  • Project management skills are desirable
  • Good written and spoken German and English skills
