Dr. Ulrike Helmstedt on the topic: A plea for plastics from a technological perspective: application in sustainable energy production
The microplastic debate often leads to a categorical rejection of plastics in the public due to the undeniable negative consequences for our environment. Using the example of encapsulation films for flexible photovoltaic modules, I would like to enter into a dialog with you and show what potential the polymer materials used for this purpose offer and how ecological and economic sustainability can be reconciled.

Dr. Agnes Schulze on the topic: Removal of micropollutants from water using functionalized membrane filters
Membrane filtration is becoming increasingly important in water treatment. Catalytically active membrane surfaces (e.g., with photocatalysts, photosensitizers, or enzymes) enable the simultaneous filtration and degradation of micropollutants (pharmaceutical residues, pesticides, PFAS, etc.). Our goal is to use this technology in a fourth purification stage for the comprehensive removal of micropollutants from water.
