Kirill Monakhov, who heads the Switchable Molecularly Functionalized Surfaces Group at the Leibniz Institute of Surface Engineering (IOM), has been awarded a Visiting Professorship by the Institute of Advanced Study (IAS) in collaboration with the Department of Chemistry at the University of Warwick, UK. As the IAS Fellow, Kirill will present his core research to an audience of the University, give guest lectures to students and take part in interdisciplinary networking events at IAS. He will explore ways to deepen understanding of polyoxometalate chemistry for the neuro-inspired application on surfaces using the latest developments in operando monitoring of redox processes and on-surface molecular programming and redout in the Warwick Electrochemistry & Interfaces Group, in collaboration with Prof. Patrick Unwin, and thereby strengthen the collaboration between IOM and IAS.
