The working group “Switchable Molecularly Functionalized Surfaces” successfully participated in the international conference Frontiers in Metal Oxide Cluster Science VIII (FMOCS VIII), which took place in Mainz from July 22 to 25, 2025. FMOCS VIII is considered the most important forum for international polyoxometalate (POM) research and once again provided an excellent platform for scientific exchange and the presentation of current research results. Particular highlights were the presentations by Dr. Stanislav Petrovskii and Jonas Lorenz. Also worthy of mention is Jonas Lorenz's award of the YoungFMOCS 2025 Lecture Prize – a well-deserved success, on which we warmly congratulate him! In addition, Dr. Alia Petrovskaia, Dr. Marco Moors, and Jonas Lorenz successfully presented their work as poster contributions, thereby making a significant contribution to the diversity of the conference. Dr. Kirill Monakhov, head of the IOM working group and member of the conference's scientific committee, was delighted with the recognition: "This award underscores the important research being done at the IOM and the commitment of our scientists. I am very proud of my team. Special thanks also go to the organizers of this excellent conference.
