Dr. Alina Petrovskaia, a researcher at IOM, presented her work at the 5th Women in Science Symposium at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). The event took place in Erlangen from 30 September to 2 October 2026.
Her contribution focused on Molybdenum octahedral clusters and vanadium polyoxometalates as photoinitiators and cross-linkers for functional PEGDA hydrogels with antibacterial properties. She conducts this research within the IOM research group “Switchable Molecularly Functionalized Surfaces”
The Women in Science Symposium brings together women scientists from different disciplines and career stages. In addition to presenting current research, the event focuses on scientific exchange, career development and networking. Its aim is to increase the visibility of women in science and foster new professional contacts and collaborations.
