Sustainable Innovation in Polymer Membranes – Our Video Series Part 3

This post concludes our three-part video series on sustainable polymer membranes. After providing insights into material development and surface technologies, we now turn our attention to:

Implementation in Real-World Applications – Overcoming Challenges in Water Treatment

“Innovation only reveals its true value in practice.”

The “Surfaces of Porous Membrane Filters / Implementation in Real Applications” research group at the IOM is working on integrating functional additives such as photoactive substances, enzymes, and adsorbent materials into polymer membranes. These hybrid systems make it possible to selectively remove contaminants and push the boundaries of conventional filtration. This results in practical solutions for key challenges in water treatment - efficient, sustainable, and scalable.

Part 3 of our video series shows how research results are translated into real-world applications.
