Sustainable Innovation in Polymer Membranes – Our Video Series Part 2

Last week, in Part 1, we covered the basics of material development. Today, we’ll pick up where we left off with:

Revolutionizing Water Filtration with State-of-the-Art Surface Technology

“Functionality arises at the surface.”

Through targeted, radiation-induced modification processes, the properties of polymer membranes can be precisely adjusted. The research area “Surfaces of Porous Membrane Filters / Irradiation-initiated modification reactions” at the IOM demonstrates how surfaces can be specifically functionalized to make membranes more resilient, efficient, and durable.

The result: improved hydrophilicity, reduced fouling tendency, and additional biocompatible and self-cleaning properties—crucial factors for sustainable filtration processes.

Part 2 of our video series shows how modern surface technologies are transforming the performance of membranes.
