At this year's 20th Plasma Technology Conference (PT20) in Bochum, the research team of Peter Birtel, Thomas Arnold, Andrea Prager, Sergej Naumov, Ulrike Helmstedt, André Anders and Patrick With took 3rd place in the poster competition with their poster "Plasma conversion of wet-chemically coated PDMS and PHPS layers by a pulsed atmospheric pressure plasma jet to a silicon oxide thin film". In the contribution, research results of the department "Barrier and Precision Coatings" were presented. These have also been published in the journal Plasma Process and Polymers under the title "Low-temperature atmospheric pressure plasmaconversion of polydimethylsiloxane and polysilazaneprecursor layers to oxide thin films" (https://doi.org/10.1002/ppap.202200229).
The conference is one of the leading platforms for the latest developments in the field of plasma technology and serves as a platform for scientific and technical exchange. Topics range from the pressing issues of sustainable energy supply to techniques for improving materials and the innovative field of plasma technology applications in medicine.
