We are very happy to announce that the 2021 R.F. Bunshah Award goes to the Director of the IOM! Prof. Dr. André Anders, Director at the Institute since 2017, receives this year's prestigious R.F. Bunshah Award and Honorary ICMCTF lectureship. The prize has been awarded since 2007 and is intended to recognize outstanding research or technological innovation in the fields of surface engineering, thin films, and related topics.

The award consists of a $1500 cash award, an engraved statuette and a honorary lectureship at the International Conference on Metallurgical Coatings and Thin Films (ICMCTF). Due to the Corona restrictions, this year’s meeting, originally scheduled in San Diego, California, USA, will take place virtually – and Prof. Anders honorary lecture as well:
