The event took place in September 2024 and provided a platform for scientists in the community to engage in intensive scientific exchange and networking. The program included numerous presentations and discussions on current research topics in the field of LIPSS, ranging from the theoretical description of the formation of LIPSS to the practical application of surfaces with periodic structures. A total of 32 scientists from six international and twelve national institutions participated. In addition to the scientific sessions, the social program, which included a city tour and a joint conference dinner, allowed for a lively exchange among the participants. All in all, the event was very successful. The next workshop will be held in Twente, the Netherlands, in 2025.

The workshop was organized and carried out by the research group 'Laser-based Micro- and Nanostructuring' of the research area 'Ultra-precision surfaces'. In addition, the activities were financially supported by the German Research Foundation (547059609) and the companies Trionplas Technologies GmbH and TOPAG Lasertechnik GmbH.
