The transfer of scientific results is a constant challenge and requires continuous development and adaptation to changing national and international conditions in industry and society.
Together with the Leibniz Institute for New Materials (INM), the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research (IFW) and the Ferdinand-Braun-Institute, Leibniz Institute for Highest Frequency Technology (FBH), the BMBF-funded joint project "InnoLeit - Accompanying Innovations to the Market" aims to develop new ways for the economic use of research results. The aim of the project partners is to better bridge the gap between, on the one hand, "research results" and, on the other hand, "product development in the company" and to make the potential practicality of research results more visible to society and the economy at an earlier stage.
The project objective of the IOM is to develop options for action for the design and realization of market-related transfer projects and to validate these according to the institute's own as well as general legal limits. On the one hand, this will deepen the expertise of the transfer actors at the IOM in the field of applicable legal regulations. On the other hand, the institute's ability to act is increased in order to enable a more active involvement of cooperation partners in the transfer process after the public funding phase in the future. Thereby, a clear demarcation between the legally secured research performance of the IOM and its application in the company takes place.
