At the beginning of May, a delegation from the IOM consisting of Dr. Zimmer, Dr. Zajadacz, Dr. Lorenz, and Dr. Ehrhardt visited the Institute of Scientific Instruments of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Brno. The scientific staff of the research department “Ultra-precision Surfaces / Laser based Micro- and Nanostructuring” were invited by Dr. Mojmír Šerý.

The visit not only provided exciting insights into the research work on site, but also numerous opportunities for professional exchange. Dr. Ehrhardt and Dr. Lorenz presented their current research topics in highly acclaimed lectures, which met with great interest and sparked lively discussions. Another success was the finalization of a joint DFG project proposal — an important step toward more intensive collaboration. In addition, further exciting ideas for future research projects were discussed.

International collaborations such as these are not only professionally enriching, but also a driving force for creative impulses and new scientific perspectives. We are very much looking forward to the next steps together—and to many more inspiring encounters!
